Robert joined the NC Protection Group (d.b.a. Private Eyes, Inc.) in February 2018. Based on his extensive law enforcement experience in both the military and local law enforcement, he was granted his full Private Investigator License by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (NCPPSB). Robert also serves as an armed Personal Protection Specialist (PPS) possessing his North Carolina Concealed Carry Permit and completing the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (NCPPSB) Basic Armed Certification Course.
Robert previously served as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) for the Winston-Salem Police Department for a decade (2005 - 2015). During this time, he was assigned to the Field Services Bureau (FSB) Patrol Division - Southside District 2 from 2005 to 2010, and was promoted to the rank of Corporal attaining the title of Narcotics Detective assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau (ISB) Special Investigations Division (SID) from 2010 to 2015. During his time as a Narcotics Detective he was also assigned as the units Technical Surveillance Specialist responsible for the electronic monitoring of narcotics operations. Robert earned the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate prior to leaving the department taking a position with Branch, Banking & Trust (BB&T) as a Risk Analyst-Banking Officer investigating financial risks ensuring Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws were enforced. He has led and assisted in hundreds of criminal investigations that were successfully prosecuted at both the State and Federal level.
Robert also served honorably in the North Carolina Army National Guard (1994 - 2014), retiring at the rank of Captain. He was assigned in multiple leadership positions while serving in the Military Police Corps supervising 45 personnel as a Platoon Leader in Iraq responsible for training and conducting and conducting combat operations in support of the Police Transition Team (PTT) mission; supervising 144 personnel as a Company Commander in stateside security operations serving as the lead unit for North Carolina's Quick Reaction Force (QRF), the lead security unit in support of the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, and training for combat operations in Afghanistan; and assigned as a Force Protection Officer for the Beyond the Horizon (BTH-11) mission in El Salvador supervising over 600 Military Police personnel conducting Protective Services Detail (PSD) missions throughout the Area of Operation (AO) and maintaining base security protecting 1000+ military personnel for the Forward Operating Base (FOB) located in San Vicente, El Salvador.
Robert holds a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Computer Electronics Technology with a Major in Computer Network Technology (Summa Cum Laude).
